Drug peddlers freed
Kathmandu: The Kathmandu District Court on Tuesday freed two alleged drug peddlers on bail. Democratic Republic Front cadre Narendra Bahadur Singh and MA student of Patan Multiple Campus Gorakh Bahadur Duwal were arrested some three months ago by the Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit (NDCLEU). The duo was arrested from Machha Pokhari, Balaju, with about 35 kg of hashish. — HNS
Held for killing wife
Kathmandu: The Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur, on Tuesday arrested Ganesh Rai, 30, on the charge of murdering his wife Anjana Rai, 25, at Madhyapur Thimi. According to the police, Rai attacked his wife with a khukuri on Tuesday night. — HNS
Abductor arrested
KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Police on Tuesday arrested Nuwa Tamang, 25, of Gorkha on the charge of kidnapping Mukesh Devkota of Chitawan from Maharajgunj. Police said Tamang, along with four of his friends, forced Devkota into a taxi and fled. “They identified themselves as Young Communist League cadres,” the police quoted Devkota. — HNS
