Man calls off strike

Kathmandu: A 65-year-old man broke a 75-day hunger strike today after Home Minister KP Sitaula promised to look into his demands. Min Bahadur KC, a resident of Kanchanpur district, was taken to a hospital for health check-up after Sitaula offered him juice. KC was a lone agitator, who had been staging a hunger strike on behalf of 35 households that were dispossessed of their land 35 years ago. Sitaula asked KC’s son to come to the ministry on Saturday along with documents they have. “He has promised he will give the final decision by Monday,” KC said. — HNS
