American robbed

KATHMANDU: An American citizen was robbed at his rented room at Devisthan in Jorpati VDC-2 on Wednesday, police said. The looters made away with cash and goods worth around Rs 300,000. Meanwhile, Saroj KC and Nabin Nepali of Chalnakhel VDC-5 in Kathmandu were arrested on the charge of looting. They have been accused of looting a necklace from Elija Lama, 24, of Sano Khokana in Lalitpur on Wednesday. — HNS

New NMA panel

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical Association on Thursday elected a 13-member executive committee headed by Dr Chop Lal Bhusal. Dr Kiran Shrestha is the senior vice-president, Dr Sheela Burma is vice-president, Dr Kedar Nurshing KC is general secretary, Dr Gopal Khanal joint secretary, Dr Arun Dixit treasurer and Dr Rajesh Kishor is the joint treasurer of the committee. — HNS
