Discussion on bill

KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Human Rights and Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday held a clause-wise discussion on the draft bill related to Non Resident Nepalis (NRNs). It also passed a draft report on a bill prepared to amend Some Nepal Acts related to export, import and intellectual property. The report will be tabled at the House. — HNS

Mercy corps’ meet

KATHMANDU: The bi-annual Global Leadership Conference-2006 of Mercy Corps, a global humanitarian agency will run from November 2 to November 8. Over 100 of Mercy Corps’ senior staff and supporters are participating in the conference. “Our decision to convene in Kathmandu is a vote of confidence on Nepal ,” said Mervyn Lee, executive director of Mercy Corps’ European headquarter Scotland. — HNS
