Everest scaled

KATHMANDU: Five members of Berg Adventures Everest 2006, along with nine Sherpas, have successfully climbed Mt Everest on October 18. The team comprising of seven members was permitted to climb the mountain under the leadership of Wallace Wayne Berge of USA, said the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Wednesday. — HNS

on the agenda item on indigenous issues at the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday in New York, Pradip Nepal, member of the Nepalese delegation said that Nepal is committed to the development and welfare of ethnic and indigenous people by eliminating discrimination and suppression against them and promoting equality, and justice. — RSS

Name changed

KATHMANDU: The name of the King Mahendra Trust Fund has been changed to the National Nature Conservation Fund. The changed name has been legally recognised following the recent certification by the speaker of the parliament in course of amendments in some laws under the act- 2063 relating to this provision. — RSS
