FCAN’s appeal :

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) has condemned the abduction of Construction Entrepreneur of Dang Balbhadra Rana by an unidentified gang. General Secretary of the FCAN Sharad Kumar Gauchan issuing a press release has asked government, human rights activists and civil society to make efforts for unharmed release of Rana. The gang had abducted him from his residence in Tribhuwan Municipality-5 on October 1. — RSS

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) central working committee which was held at Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar on Saturday passed a condolence message in memory of those killed in the helicopter crash in Taplejung on September 23. The party has mourned the death of State Minister of Forest and Soil Conservation Gopal Rai and international and national experts. — RSS

Festival celebrated :

MADHYAPUR THIMI: Kuvindo festival, celebrated in Balkumari of Madhyapur Thimi on dashain, concluded here, on Saturday. The festival, called Kha Jatra in Newari language, begins on the day of Ghatasthapana. There has been practices of sowing various seeds for the holly seedling (jamara)on the day of Ghatasthapana in Layeku Taleju, bringing the Phulpati form Siddhikali Temple to dashain Ghar of Layaku, on the day of Phulpati and sacrificing nine he-buffalos and five he-goats on the day of Nawami. After worship by leading priest the gourd was cut into pieces in Balkumari. The festival concluded after a procession reached Layaku Durbar from Balkumari. — RSS
