Fire in science lab

KATHMANDU: A fire broke out in the science laboratory of Patan Multiple Campus on Sunday evening, damaging property worth Rs 500,000. According to Gauri Thapa, fire-fighter of the Patan Fire Brigade, the fire damaged five computers, scientific equipment and chemicals. Thapa said that the fire may have erupted due to a short circuit. There was nobody in the campus when the fire broke out as the college is closed for the summer vacation. The fire brigade controlled it in half-an-hour, Thapa said. — HNS

KATHMANDU: A team of the New Baneshwor-based Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit on Saturday arrested Prem Pun alias Yam Bahadur Magar, 50, of Myagdi from Dhapasi-8, Kathmandu, and seized 10 kgs of hashish from him. — HNS
