KATHMANDU: With the objective of promoting nature and wildlife photography in Nepal, Wildlife Conservation Nepal is organising a photo exhibition to mark the World Environment Day. The exhibition, going on at the Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal, will last till Friday. — HNS

MoES plan

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) has speeded up the process of reconstitution of various commissions and selection of chairmen in those bodies, Laba Prasad Tripathee, the joint secretary at the MoES, said. The process of reconstituting the Teachers’ Service Commission, Tribhuvan University Teachers’ Service Commission and the Purbanchal University Teachers’ Service Commission is under way, he said. The posts of chairmen of the commissions have been lying vacant following a Cabinet decision of May 7, which has caused a halt in all administrative and academic works. — HNS

Teargas abuse

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a directive to the government urging it to form a panel to control the excessive use of teargas in demonstrations. Issuing the directive, a three-member bench comprising justices Khil Raj Regmi, Balram KC and Gauri Dhakal directed the government to form the panel by including officials of the Ministries of Health, Home Affairs, Science and Technology and Defence. — HNS
