Dixit shooters

KATHMANDU: Superintendent of Police at the Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB), Hanumandhoka, Deepak Ranjit, on Sunday claimed the police have identified persons who shot at Dr Hemang Dixit, the principal of Kathmandu Medical College, at Baneshwor on May 4. Ranjit, however, refused to name the culprits. He urged people to inform the police if they have any information of the shooters. “We will award persons informing us about the culprits,” he said. Dr Dixit is still undergoing treatment in the hospital and his condition is reportedly stable. —HNS

APF battalion’s anniv

KATHMANDU: Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Sahabir Thapa, on Sunday launched an annual souvenir of the Bangalamukhi Special Task Force Bangalamukhi batallion Bangalamukhi Archana amid a function to mark the fourth birth anniversary of the batallion. AIFGP Basudev Oli gave away prizes to Senior Sub-inspector Uddhav Karki. — HNS
