Pact on justice

KATHMANDU: An agreement was reached on Thursday between the Social Welfare Council, the Plan Nepal, and the Central Child Welfare Board (CCWB) to run the ‘’Strengthening Juvenile Justice and the CWB/DCWBs’’ project. According to the accord, the proposed project has determined the Children’’s Court, Central and District Child Welfare Boards as the priority area and will prepare an action plan to consolidate the bodies. — RSS

NEA forms poll panel

KATHMANDU: Nepal Engineers’ Association (NEA) has announced that a panel has been formed under Bharat Raj Pahadi to conduct its 26th executive council election scheduled for September 16. The association is the umbrella organization of around 12,000 engineers in the country. — HNS

Training held

KATHMANDU: A four-day training on gender mainstreaming, women’s health and HIV/AIDS for development workers involved in tourism for rural poverty alleviation programme concluded here on Friday. Organised by Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Programme of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the training was attended by 14 participants, including social mobilisers of six districts of the Sagarmatha National Park and officers of the Nepal Tourism Board. — RSS
