One held for cheating

Kathmandu: Kalimati Ward Police Office arrested one person on the charge of looting three tolas of gold from 62-year-old Mithu Poudel of Kalimati. According to the Valley Police Office, Suresh Lama along with other two persons cheated Poudel by luring him with more gold.

“Later, the gold given by Lama’s gang to Poudel turned to be fake,” police said. Lama hails from Bara district. His accomplices are absconding, according to the police. — HNS

Wife stabs husband

Bhaktapur: Sabitri Bishwokarma attacked her husband Gopal Bishwokarma with a knife following a brief tussle between them. According to the police, the couple were quarrelling over a family affair when the wife used a kitchen knife to stab her husband at around 10 pm on Monday in their residence at Madhyapur Thimi-14, Bhaktapur. Gopal is undergoing treatment at Bhaktapur Hospital. Sabitri has been taken into custody. —HNS
