Body set up

KATHMANDU: A non-profit social organisation Satya Narayan Bahadur Jagaran Abhiyan was set up on Sunday in memory of educationist and former principal of Adarsha Vidya Mandir, late Satya Narayan Bahadur Shrestha. The organisation will provide scholarship to the poor children, conduct research in the agricultural sector and help produce skilled manpower in the country. — HNS

Rotary function

Kathmandu: The second installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Patan was held on Saturday. Immediate past president Bisho Bajracharya handed over the charter to the newly elected president Dibya Govinda Joshi for the term 2005/06. On the occasion, Joshi said as the Rortary’s motto is ‘Service above Self’, the Rotarians stand as the hope for the downtrodden, poor and marginalised people. —HNS
