Support for Dhamala

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba accused the government of arresting Rishi Dhamala, president of the Reporters’ Club Nepal, on false charges. Talking to mediapersons at his residence on Wednesday, the former prime minister also accused the government of arresting and punishing journalists without any evidence. NRP condemns govt

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastriya Party (NRP) on Wednesday condemned the government’s decision to sack Keshab Man Shakya, president of Lumbini Development Trust, without any reason. “We regret the act of the Ministry of Culture and State Restructuring to dismiss Shakya from his post,” reads a statement issued by the party here on Wednesday. The party also accused the Maoist-led government of offending the spirit of religious harmony and linguistic rights. — HNS
