NHEA elects new body

Kathmandu: The Nepal Health Economics Association (NHEA) on Sunday elected a nine-member executive body during its seventh general body elections held under the presidentship of Dr Badri Raj Pande. According to a press release issued here by the NHEA, the general body’s tenure will be for three years effective from June. The executive body elected Dr Y B Karki as the vice-president, Dr Devi Prasad Prasai as general-secretary, Kiran Dev Pant as treasurer and Dr Nepahil Matangi Maskay, Shiva Raj Adhikari, Dr Giris Prasad Pant, Bijay Bahadur Kunwar and Bishnu Prasad Sharma as members. —HNS

Waste taken to Sisdol

KATHMANDU: Solid waste generated daily from Kathmandu and Lalitpur has been taken to the Sisdol landfill site at Okharpauwa from Sunday for proper disposal. Two hundred and fifty metric tonnes of solid waste is produced in Kathmandu and 160 metric tonnes in Lalitpur daily. — RSS

KATHMANDU: The 18th convention of the central meeting of Nepal Blind Welfare Association was inaugurated by social worker Dr Laxminarayan Prasad. Shyam Govind Shrestha of Dharan, Sunsari, was given life membership of the organisation. — RSS
