SAARC info centre

KATHMANDU: The SAARC Information Centre was set up on Monday at the Media Village, Sinamangal. Minister for Information and Communication, Tanka Dhakal inagurated the newly estabilished Information Centre which is expected to collect and disseminate information of the seven member countries of the SAARC. The management committee of the centre will have 10 members including one representative from each SAARC member country, one from the SAARC Secretariat, an other from Ministry for foreign Affairs of Nepal and one representative from the Department of Information, it was informed. — HNS

SP’s wife kills self

KATHMANDU: Sharada Chand, 35, wife of superintendent of police Ran Bahadur Chand committed suicide on Monday by hanging herself on the ceiling of her bedroom in her house at Basundhara at about four in the afternoon, according to DSP Ganesh KC at the Kathmandu District Police Office. — HNS
