APF offices inaugurated

Four held for extortion

KATHMANDU: Four people, including Hari Ram Bista of Chhampi VDC-3 of Lalitpur district, were arrested for extortion in the name of Maoists on Wednesday. Police said they were arrested while collecting donation from the Trishul Gas Depot of Nur Pratap Rana at Kumari Club in Kathmandu-14. — HNS

Pahela Baisakh celebrated

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu on Thursday celebrated the Pahela Baisakh, the first day of the New Bengali Year, 1412 on the Embassy premises, a press statement issued on Thursday said. A brief discussion, a short cultural and sports programme where members of Bangladesh community participated, was organised on the occasion. Bangladeshi ambassador to Nepal M Humayun Kabir distributed prizes to the winners. — HNS
