IN BRIEF

EU’s concern

KATHMANDU: European Union Heads of Mission and the representative of the Netherlands in Kathmandu have said that the recruitment campaigns carried out by the Nepali Army and the Maoist Army were against the spirit of the CPA and a serious threat to the peace process. Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the Mission also urged the government and political parties to rededicate themselves to deciding the future of the Maoist combatants. — HNS

Break from tradition

MADHYAPUR THIMI: The famous tongue-piercing festival of Bode, Bhaktapur, will not be celebrated this year. The festival will not be held as nobody was found ready to pierce the tongue as Bridhakrishna Baga Shrestha, who used to pierce the tongue in the past years, won’t be available this year.— RSS
