Inaugural History Bee and Bowl held in capital

Kathmandu, March 1

The International Bee & Bowl held its inaugural History Bee and Bowl for the first time in Nepal, at Bouddha Meridian International School, Jorpati.

This has opened the door for Bouddha Meridian School, Meridian International School and Ullens School to participate in 2016 Asian Championship and 2016 International History Olympiad to be held in Thailand and the USA respectively, said a press statement issued by the organisers today.

After a series of qualifying tournaments, the International History Olympiad is going to be held in Hawaii, the USA in coming June.

The International Bee & Bowl is an International History related quiz competition taking place in more than 100 countries in the world.

Team Independent (Avani Adhikari) and Ullens School achieved first and second position in the high school category, whereas Bouddha Meridian School and Meridian International School secured first and second positions in History Bowl Championship in the middle school category.

Similarly, Hrith Bikram Adhikari from Bouddha Meridian School and Avani Adhikari (Independent Team) received gold medal for Middle School History Bee and Junior Varsity History Bee respectively.

David Madden, founder executive of the International Bee & Bowl, expressed his notes of gratitude and thanks to Bouddha Meridian School for making arrangements for the inaugural championship in Nepal.
