Indian embassy flays Minister KC’s comments
Kathmandu, November 7
Embassy of India in Nepal today condemned the comments made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Poverty Alleviation Chitra Bahadur KC in an interview with Himalaya TV yesterday.
The embassy issued a press release today saying the attention of the embassy had been drawn to certain comments about India by KC.
“The embassy condemns the comments made by Chitra Bahadur KC, which are completely baseless and provocative, aimed at vitiating the age-old historical, familial and civilisational ties between the people of India and Nepal,” the embassy said in its statement, “The embassy expects the government to distance itself from these comments.”
The embassy also said India seeks peace, stability and prosperity for the people of Nepal and had consistently supported the government and people of Nepal in their endeavours to make a peaceful, stable and prosperous Nepal and will continue to do so.
