Inter-religious body registered

Kathmandu, October 9:

The Inter-religious Peace Committee was recently registered at the District Administration Office of Kathmandu as the Inter-religious Council Nepal (ICN). “Highlighting the role of religious bodies in bringing about lasting peace in the country, the committee was formed over two years ago,” the council said in a release issued here today. The committee had been organising various programmes to bring about peace in the nation by promoting harmony among the followers of different religions. Achyut Raj Regmi is the president of the ICN, while Dr KB Rokaya and Vikchhu Anand are vice-presidents, Keshav Prasad Chaulagain is the secretary, Najarul Hussein joint secretary and Bishnu Prasad Ghimire is the treasurer of the council.
