IPMF's plea to UN

KATHMANDU: A group of indigenous leaders today met with UN representatives to draw their attention and to exert pressure on the government for ensuring their rights in new constitution.

Dr Krishna Bahadur Bhattachan, general secretary, Indigenous People Mega Front (IPMF), said the meeting was a reminder to the government in setting up a mechanism to ensure indigenous people’s participation in the ongoing constitution making process. IPMF demands that every type of rights are incorporated in the statute to avoid their exclusion.
