Ishan Hospital tense after child's death
KATHMANDU: Tension ran high in the Basundhara-based Ishan Children and Women's Hospital after a child died during the course of treatment in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
The patient party accused the hospital of negligence and resorted to vandalism after three-old-old Bikrishna Maharjan's death.
The boy, who apparently suffered from pneumonia, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital at around 1 am.
The hospital told the patient's guardians at around 5:45 am the boy succumbed to his illness.
The bereaved family refused to collect the body and demanded that the case be investigated and those responsible for the boy's death be booked.
