KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 7
The Embassy of Israel in Nepal has provided emergency humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the recent floods in Baireni of Galchhi Rural Municipality-6, Dhading.
Deputy Chief of Mission Janan Bebar visited the affected area and handed over emergency go-bags and boxes containing essential supplies to individuals and families affected by the floods.
The embassy said the assistance was the first phase of its emergency relief response and that it remained in contact with Nepali authorities to assess the evolving needs of affected communities.
Additional assistance will be provided in the coming days based on needs identified on the ground, it said.
Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Arie Bass said Israel stood with the people of Nepal during the crisis and hoped the initial assistance would provide immediate relief to affected communities.
The embassy also expressed solidarity with affected communities and Nepali authorities, first responders and volunteers involved in the relief efforts.
