Japan funnels in $88,218 for conflict victims' schooling
KATHMANDU: The Government of Japan has extended a financial assistance of $ 88,218 for educating student victims of armed conflict through Save the Children Japan-Nepal office.
Issuing a press release here today, Japanese embassy stated that Save the Children Japan will implement the Project for Quality Education for Children Affected by Armed Conflict in Dang and Surkhet Districts in coordination with the District Education Offices and three local NGOs—Society for Environment Economy Development, Social Awareness Centre and Women for Human Rights.
The grant contract relating to this project was exchanged today between Tasuo MIZUNO, ambassador of Japan to Nepal and Ayano SUZUMURA, resident representative of the Save the Children Japan-Nepal office.
The assistance is for the implementation of social and economic development as well as emergency humanitarian assistance projects to be undertaken by Japanese NGOs in developing countries, the embassy said.
