Japanese, Thai envoys call on President

KATHMANDU: Japanese delegates paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the latter’s office in Sheetal Niwas, on Monday.

On the occasion of 60th anniversary of the Nepal-Japan relations, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa and Nepal-Japan Parliamentary friendly committee member Kotaro Nagasaki discussed diplomatic relationship, the President’s Office said in a statement.

The visiting delegates discussed ways to continue cordial relationship in the future during their meeting with President Bhandari today.

President Bhandari also thanked the delegates and lauded the support and cooperation Japanese government has lent over the time.

Meanwhile, Thai Ambassador to Nepal Vutti Vuttisant paid a farewell visit on President Bhandari today itself.

Ambassador Vuttisant discussed cordial relationship between Nepal and Japan including political, cultural, economic and trade ties during his meeting with President Bhandari today.

He assured President Bhandari of maintaining similar ideologies regarding international issues in the international forums, the President’s Office said in a statement.

President Bhandari thanked and lauded Thai government’s contribution during the post-earthquake period last year.
