Jatayu Scholarship for students
KATHMANDU; Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN), an organisation working for conservation of birds in the country has conferred Jatayu (Vulture) Scholarship to three researchers from Tribhuvan University. The scholarship recipients, all students of Master’s level, have been working for the conservation of endangered Vulture species in the country.
The recipients, Dikpal Krishna Karmacharya, Hemanta Dhakal and Krishna Bhusal have received a cash award of Rs 25,000 each. The scholars will conduct research on behavioural patterns of Vulture, its habitats and management of Jatayu restaurants. As a conservation effort, BCN has been managing Jatayu restaurants in Nawalparasi, Lumbini and Dang. Jatayu restaurants are eateries for the Vultures. Through the restaurant, healthy animal flesh is provided to Vultures, said Deependra Joshi, executive officer, BCN.
