JSP-N is set to join the government soon

KATHMANDU, MAY 31

Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal Chair Mahanta Thakur and party's senior figure Rajendra Mahato have reached Baluwatar to hold discussions with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The two sides are likely to discuss the number of ministries to be shared and the desired portfolios at the meeting.

The Thakur-Mahato faction of the JSP-N, that has stood like a rock with PM Oli during his recent political adventures, is all set to join the government.

In a bid to woo the Thakur-Mahato faction and to secure some space in Madhes, Oli had recently taken a few 'bold' steps, even on matters that were under scrutiny in parliament.

On the other hand, the Upendra Yadav led faction in the JSP-N is strongly opposed to the idea of supporting Oli, leading to a war of action and counter action between the two factions, which has sowed seeds of a split in the party.
