Jibro Chhedne Jatra marked in Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU: On the second day of the Bisket Jatra, locals of the Bhaktapur district observed the 'Jibro Chhedne Jatra', the tongue piercing festival.

Jujubhai Basan Shrestha pierced his tongue for the eight consecutive time today, which he has been doing since 2009.

Bisket Jatra, which is celebrated for nine days and eight nights, began on Saturday in Bhaktapur. Locals on Wednesday pulled the three-storey pagoda-style chariot of Bhairavnath from Bhairav temple in Taumadhi to Gahiti.
