Juniors harass forest boss

KATHMANDU: Junior Foresters’ Association of Nepal (JFAN) on Sunday barred the Director General of Department of Forest (DoF) from entering into office premises for around two hours.

Jib Mani Devkota, central president of JFAN, said that they had barred the director general, Dr Krishna Chandra Poudel, from entering into the office as a part of their first phase of protest programmes.

The JFAN has been staging protests since April 26 across the country demanding implementation of their seven-point demand. The demands include fair promotions, corruption-free forest administration, provision of technical training and accident insurance among others.

According to JFAN, its second phase of protest will begin tomorrow.
