Justice Joshee orders NMA not to enforce health service shutdown
KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has ordered the Nepal Medical Association not to enforce shutdown and strike in the health service sector.
A single bench of apex court justice Deepak Raj Joshee ordered the Association to not close health service under any condition. "Do not immediately implement the NMA decision to shut health service effective from September 11 until another notice", stated the court order.
The NMA had launched a protest programme demanding amendment to the Civil and Criminal (Code) Act-2074 BS. The government and Association had signed a five-point agreement in this regard.
