Fiesta aims to promote art, culture in Patan

Jyapu Museum Fiesta 2017 organised by Jyapu Samaj with the aim of promoting local art, culture and tourism in the ancient city of Patan entered its second day today.

Organisers said more than 100,000 people had already visited the event. The fiesta is being organised at 10 different venues, showcasing ancient arts, crafts and illustrations of the ancient city. Musical instruments used during the Malla period, tools used in agriculture, statues depicting people performing various religious activities and items, including clothes used during different stages of life, are the major highlights of the fiesta.

The fiesta also features the romantic shadow art of Jhyalincha.“We have organised this event to promote ancient art, culture and history of Patan and tourism in the area,” said Shanta Man Maharjan, vice president of Jyapu Samaj.
