Karki elected World Hindu Federation president

Kathmandu, April 29:

The 28th general assembly of World Hindu Federation held in Uttar Pradesh elected Col Hem Bahadur Karki as the president of the organisation on Sunday.

Kakri, who succeeded Maj Gen Bharat Kesher Simha, was elected fourth president of WHF, the umbrella organisation of Hindu organisations. Prior to this, he was working as secretary general of WHF. Karki, 72, a retired army officer, is a civil engineer by profession.

Karki said he would try to bring all Hindus and Hindu organisations across the world under an umbrella during his tenure.

“Nepal had been a Hindu state since time immemorial and I will try my best in getting the status back,” he said.
