KATHMANDU: Police arrested two suspected burglars and confiscated valuables worth more than Rs 450,000 from them at Makalbari of Gokarneshwor Municipality-7, on Monday.

Police identified the suspects as Chhesang Thokar aka Tension Lama (21) and Dorje Lama aka Sagar (200.

The duo broke into an unattended house in Makalbari and stole gold and silver ornaments as well as cash this afternoon, according police.

As the landlord reached the house in the meantime and tried to retaliate, they thrashed him with iron rods and fled the scene with the booty.

The duo, however, were rounded up by a team of security personnel from the Metropolitan Crime Division and the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau.
