KMC removes illegal structures

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City on Thursday removed around four dozen illegal temporary structures set up in Tilganga area.

KMC said it demolished the structures, including shops and temporary shelters. KMC officials said setting up temporary structures within a distance of 31 metres from the median of a road was illegal. They said the structures were being used to run tea shops and vehicle repair centres.

The metropolitan office has also launched a crackdown on vendors found selling their wares encroaching pavements.
