Kathmandu valley logs 154 new coronavirus cases today

KATHMANDU: The three districts of Kathmandu valley reported 154 new cases of the coronavirus infection on Monday.

Among the newly infected, 59 are females while 95 are males.

Of the total 339 new cases in the country, Kathmandu district reported 133 infections while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur registered 13 and eight cases respectively.

Currently, there are 1,805 active infections in Kathmandu, 141 in Lalitpur, and 32 in Bhaktapur. The total number of active cases throughout Nepal, as of today, is 3,240.

So far, 493 fatalities from Covid-19 have been reported in Kathmandu, 115 in Bhaktapur, and 159 in Lalitpur. The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 2,011 with 10 Covid-related fatalities logged today.

Meanwhile, a total of 98,602 people have recovered from the infection in Kathmandu, 15,642 in Lalitpur, and 9,041 in Bhaktapur.

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Mugu are the three districts with zero live infections, as of today.
