Kathmandu valley logs 172 new Covid-19 cases today

KATHMANDU: The three districts of Kathmandu valley reported 172 new cases of the coronavirus infection on Tuesday.

Among the newly infected, 74 are females while 98 are males.

Of the total 303 new cases in the country, Kathmandu district reported 134 infections while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur registered 31 and seven cases respectively.

Currently, there are 1,794 active infections in Kathmandu, 150 in Lalitpur, and 33 in Bhaktapur. The total number of active cases throughout Nepal, as of today, is 3,252.

So far, 494 fatalities from Covid-19 have been reported in Kathmandu, 115 in Bhaktapur, and 159 in Lalitpur. The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 2,017 with six Covid-related fatalities logged today.

Meanwhile, a total of 98,746 people have recovered from the infection in Kathmandu, 15,664 in Lalitpur, and 9,047 in Bhaktapur.

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Mugu are the three districts with zero live infections, as of today.
