KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 03

Kathmandu valley recorded as many as 55 new cases of the coronavirus infection, on Wednesday.

Of the newly infected persons, 25 are females while 30 are males.

Kathmandu district alone witnessed 44 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported eight new cases while Bhaktapur logged three cases, today. At present, there are 1,396 active coronavirus cases in Kathmandu while number of the same in Lalitpur is 60 and that in Bhaktapur is 14.

499 people have succumbed to the contagion in Kathmandu while 160 fatalities have been reported in Lalitpur and 115 in Bhaktapur, so far.

Meanwhile, total number of people who have recovered from the disease in Kathmandu is 99,718 while 15,828 people have recovered in Lalitpur and 9,099 in Bhaktapur.

Today, 142 new cases of Covid-19 surfaced in the country following which the nationwide Covid-19 tally has reached 271,431.

The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 2,031 with one Covid-related fatality logged today.

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Bhojpur, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Mugu are the four districts with zero live infections, as of today.
