Kathmandu valley records 218 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday
KATHMANDU: The three districts of Kathmandu valley reported 218 new cases of the coronavirus infection on Tuesday.
Among the newly infected, 88 are females while 130 are males.
Of the total 348 new cases in the country, Kathmandu district reported 159 infections while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur registered 32 and 27 infections respectively.
Currently, there are 2,193 active infections in Kathmandu, 210 in Lalitpur, and 62 in Bhaktapur. The total number of active cases throughout Nepal, as of today, is 3,764.
So far, 489 fatalities from Covid-19 have been reported in Kathmandu, 113 in Bhaktapur, and 158 in Lalitpur. The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 1,969 with four Covid-related fatalities logged today.
Meanwhile, a total of 97,550 people have recovered from the infection in Kathmandu, 15,441 in Lalitpur, and 8,963 in Bhaktapur.
Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Nawalparasi West, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Mugu are the six districts with zero live infections, as of today.
