KATHMANDU: Presidential candidate from the Nepali Congress party, lawmaker Kul Bahadur Gurung, on Sunday congratulated newly elected President and Vice-President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Nanda Bahadur Pun respectively.

Four days after being defeated in the presidential election, Gurung issued a press statement today and congratulated his rival Bhandari and Vice-President Pun, who was elected to the post on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Gurung also thanked his party including President Sushil Koirala for nominating him as the presidential candidate.

He also thanked lawmakers for voting him.
