Khanal calls on GPK
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal called on Girija Prasad Koirala, Nepali Congress (NC) president at the latter's residence in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Tuesday.
According to sources, the two chiefs of the main coalition parties of the government discussed about the current political situation. Khanal conferred with the veteran leader prior to his week-long India visit starting from today.
After the meeting Khanal said that the high level political mechanism will be formed soon. He added that Koirala will also meet President Dr Ram Baran Yadav in order to seek a reasonable resolve for the current political deadlock.
The NC president met UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday to resolve the current political deadlock and the Maoist agitation. It is believed that the government will pass the budget soon.
