Kidnapper calls up parents

Hiramaya Rai, who abducted 20 children from the hostel of Naba Indra Dhanus school in Balaju on Saturday night, called up the parents of a child today and asked them not to worry about their children. “The children were not fed properly in the hostel; therefore, I brought them to a new place where I will manage enough facilities for them,” Hiramaya, who has been working in the school for the past five years, reportedly told the mother of Suresh and Dipendra Rai over the telephone. Police later found out that Rai had made the call from Lagankhel area. “Rai might have kept the children in a private house,” Lokendra Shrestha, inspector at the Lalitpur sub-branch of the Valley Crime Investigation Branch, said. Forty-year-old Rai abducted 20 students from the hostel at midnight using five vans. Twenty-two children

aged between three and 14 were staying in the hostel. According to police, Hiramaya was involved in trafficking of children inside the country.
