Kidnappers arrested
Kathmandu, November 24:
The police have nabbed two main accused involved in the abduction of Tika Ram Rai, an ex-British soldier, from Chundevi on November 14.
Rai was abducted by a group of eight persons, including a woman, from Chundevi and taken to Sinamangal in a taxi.
He was held hostage for around five hours in Kastamandap Guest House and robbed of Rs 750,000 and forced to sign a paper promising to pay Rs 3.9 million later before being released
at around 1 am.
The brain behind the abduction, Sunuwar, has been in the real estate business for sometime and was already punished once in a labour case.
According to the police, many of those accused are still at large.
The police have also seized a Libero motorbike, two cellular phones and a Chinese pistol with seven bullets.
Meanwhile, in another case, Bishnu Sarki (Achhami) of Ghyangsukathokar of Dolakha and Dhan Bahadur Tamang of Sipadole, Bhaktapur, have been arrested for looting Rs 325,000 from Lok Bahadur Nepali of Betani, Ramechhap at Naradevi on September 16.
A teenager, Kanchha Damai of Dhading, and his friends, who were involved in the crime, and are yet to be caught.
