King inaugurates WHF’s silver jubilee fest

Kathmandu, April 17:
King Gyanendra inaugurated the silver jubilee celebrations of World Hindu Federation (WHF) in Maharajgunj, Bansbari, on the occasion of Ram Nawami and Hindu Unity Day. Queen Komal was also present on the occasion. The King handed over the peace jar (Shanti Kalash) to the WHF chairman, Major General Bharat Keshar Singh, so that he can carry it on the world tour for peace. The King also presented appreciation letter to the Indian heir to Gorakhnath Pitha and member of the Lok Sabha and chairman of the World Hindu Federation, India unit, Yogi Adityanath. The King and Queen offered worship at Shreemad Adhaytama Ramayan Gyan Mahayagya being organised on the premises of the WHF’s office and received prasad. A religious and cultural programme was also presented.
The Queen gave away the Parini Award to the writer of Putropadesh, Tri-tha Raj Acharya, who is also a scholar. She also felicitated four persons of Omakar Pariwar for their contributions in the field of Hindu religion and culture and two employees of the WHF district branches for their outstanding work. Those who were felicitated include Kishor Kumar Gautam of Nepal Santa Society, Rajendra Shuradiya of Nepal Jain Council, religious teacher of Boudhha Dharma Mahabihar, Swaymbhu, Kaalsang Lama, Rabindar Singh Sethi of Guru Nannak Satsangh Committee and the chairman of World Hindu Federation in Dhanusa and Janakpurdham Mahanta Ram, Tapeswor Bishnab and the WHF district chairman, Nuwakot, Madhav Prasad Khanal.
