Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to carry out antigen tests from today until COVID-19 comes under control.

Chief of Public Health Department of KMC Hari Bahadur Kunwar, said every ward would determine the centre and carry out antigen tests as per their convenience. One can get the test report of coronavirus immediately after undergoing antigen test.

Kunwar added that they had continued the antigen test as per the plan to isolate COV- ID-infected people from the community.

The antigen test has been given continuity targeting people with COVID-like symptoms and contract tracing people, including frontliners working during the prohibitory order.

KMC has requested people of the target group and COVID suspects to visit the centre of their convenience for the test.

Only 5,760 people underwent antigen test at KMC against its target of carrying out the test on 50,000 people. It had launched a special campaign from May 28 to June 1. Of the targeted number, 479 people tested positive for COVID-19.
