KMC Mayor, NRNA President discuss investment possibilities

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Shesh Ghale on Tuesday held a discussion regarding investment possibilities.

During the meeting held in Kathmandu, KMC Mayor Shakya expressed his commitment to making an investment-friendly environment for attracting non-resident Nepalis to the investment for development of Kathmandu.

Shakya said investment should be done for the development of Kathmandu also from the view of social responsibility, adding that, the city not only belongs to the well-off people, but it also has a large number of population which needs to be regenerated economically, socially and politically.

Mentioning about the support provided by NRNA for rescue and relief during the time of 2015 Gorkha Earthquake, President Ghale stressed that an environment conducive to motivating such initiatives again in future should be created.

Ghale also drew attention of Shakya on the need of formulating appropriate policies for carrying out grand projects in Kathmandu.
