KMS to mark golden jubilee

Kathmandu, January 22

Kendriya Manandhar Sangh (KMS), the umbrella organisation of all the Manandhars throughout the country, is organising various programmes the day after tomorrow to mark its golden jubilee.

Pratisara Sayami, chief of communication section of the golden jubilee celebration committee, said marathon legend Baikuntha Manandhar, musician Shiva Sankhar Manandhar and cine-artist Melina Manandhar would jointly inaugurate the ceremony.

Social workers, winners of different competitions and elders of the community would be felicitated during the formal ceremony. Cultural show would also be presented during the programme.

Earlier too, health camps, tree plantation and sports were organised in Kathmandu to mark the occasion. According to Keshav Lal Nepali Manandhar, vice-president of the organisation, KMS is the first community-based organisation in the country. "It has been working for social reformation and cultural strenghthening."
