Koirala-Nepal meet on alliance

KATHMANDU: The meeting on Tuesday morning, between senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Madhav Kumar Nepal and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala decided that their alliance is ready to discuss with UCPN Maoist without any pre-conditions to find a way out of Maoist's continued House obstructions. But they have dismissed the Maoists demmand of debating and voting in the CA Parliament on a resolution proposal against the president’s move.


The meeting was held at Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj in order to find ways to start the process for electing a new Prime Minister after the Maoists continued obstruction in the parliament. According to sources, they discussed about the Maoist's decision to take a resolution proposal against the president’s move in the House and the possible structure of MK Nepal- led would be government.

In the meeting senior lawyers, Shambhu Thapa, Radheshyam Adhikari, Sher Bahadur KC, Harihar Dahal, Agni Kharel and former Chairman of Public Service Commisssion Tirtha Man Shakya were also invited for the consultation.

Meanwhile, senior UML leader MK Nepal, Chairman Jhal Nath Khanal and other leaders met with UCPN Maoist president Puspa Kamal Dahal and other leaders in the Maoist's Parliamentary Party Office at Singha Durbar on Tuesday morning. In the meeting, UML leaders urged the Maoist to end the disruptions in the House.But Maoists dismissed UML's request.
