KATHMANDU: Property worth Rs 800,000 was reduced to ashes as a cloth shop caught fire in Narephant, Koteshwor of Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Police said the Jayadev Bastralaya owned by Jayadev Pradhan in KMC-35 had caught fire due to an electronic short circuit yesterday.

Locals assisted by police had contained the fire.

Further investigation is underway.
