Koteshwor woman murder suspect arrested from Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: A man, who allegedly murdered a woman in a guesthouse in Koteshwor of KMC-32 has been arrested on Tuesday, police said.

A special police team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Division arrested Badri Prasad Timilsina aka Bishnu Sapkota (51) of Indrawati Rural Municipality-5 in Sindupalchok district.

The preliminary investigation has revealled that Timilsina, who had stayed over in the guest house with Laxmi Tamang, had checked in as husband and wife on Saturday.

After a dispute on financial matters, Badri Prasad Timilsina strangled Laxmi to death with a shawl, covered the body with a blanket on the bed.

With door latched from outside, Timilsina reportedly left the hotel in pretext of receiving his friend from the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Police seized a mobile set, Rs 95,000 cash and gold like Tilahari (a traditional Nepali jewellery) belonging to Laxmi Tamang's from Badri Prasad Timilsina.

Meanwhile, MCD has sent the suspect to Metropolitan Police Circle Baneshwor for further investigation.
