KATHMANDU: A woman who had stayed over with a man at a guest house in Koteshwar was found dead in mysterious circumstances on Sunday morning.

The 28-year-old woman, identified as Laxmi Tamang of Kavre, and one Bishnu Sapkota had checked in at the Hotel Hom Guest House as husband and wife yesterday, police said.

With the room latched from outside, the man reportedly left the guest house on the pretext of receiving a friend at the Tribhuvan International Airport this morning and did not return.

This set off alarm bells in the guest house. When the staffers opened the door, they found the woman lying dead in the room.

Her body had blue marks around the neck.

Police said they are looking into the case.
